Speechy policy

Privacy Policy

This page explains how Speechy handles recordings, transcripts, AI workflows, imported files, and support communications.

Effective date: April 7, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Speechy collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Speechy app, related extensions, Apple Watch app, widgets, and the Speechy website.

Speechy is built around voice capture, transcription, note organization, translation, and AI-assisted workflows. Because these features can involve audio, text, imported files, and optional third-party AI providers, we aim to clearly explain what data is handled and why.

2. Information you provide

Depending on how you use Speechy, you may provide audio recordings, imported audio or video files, transcripts, note titles, tags, translations, subtitle exports, prompts used in AI chat, and support messages you send to us.

If you configure optional third-party AI services or custom model endpoints, requests you choose to send through those services may include transcript or note content needed to complete the feature you requested.

3. Information processed on device

Many Speechy features can run partially or fully on your device, including on-device speech recognition, on-device speaker analysis, local model workflows, and note storage paths that remain under your control.

The exact behavior depends on your device, language, model configuration, and the feature you use.

4. How we use information

We use information to provide transcription, translation, subtitle export, AI summaries, action-item extraction, speaker recognition, Apple Watch capture, widgets, share extensions, and support workflows.

We may also use limited diagnostic or operational information to maintain app reliability, investigate crashes, improve performance, and respond to user support requests.

5. Third-party services and AI providers

Some advanced features may rely on Apple services or third-party AI and infrastructure providers, depending on your setup and the options you enable. These may include Apple Intelligence, OpenAI-compatible APIs, Anthropic, Gemini, or locally managed models.

When you choose to use an external provider, the content required for that request may be transmitted to that provider under their terms and privacy practices. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy terms of any external service you configure.

6. Sharing and exports

Speechy supports exports and sharing, including subtitle files, translated text, shared notes, and system share extensions. When you export or share content, that action is initiated by you.

We do not sell your transcripts, notes, or recordings to data brokers.

7. Data retention

Content you create in Speechy may remain stored on your device, in your iCloud or app storage environment, or with a provider you explicitly configure, until you delete it.

Support emails or operational logs may be retained for a limited period as needed to resolve issues, satisfy legal obligations, and maintain service integrity.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled through Speechy. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You should avoid storing or transmitting sensitive regulated information through third-party AI services unless you have confirmed that your workflow is appropriate for that use.

9. Children's privacy

Speechy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website or support channels.

10. Your choices

You can delete notes and recordings inside the app, manage subscription status through your Apple account, and choose whether to use local workflows or third-party AI providers where available.

You can also use the contact page if you need help with privacy questions.

11. Changes to this policy
